Tungsten oxide powder, which may be applied for producing thermal insulation coating, may be prepared by hydrothermal method.
Preparation of Ti-doped Tungsten Oxide Film by Templateless Hydrothermal Method
Similar to the case of Mo doping, the Ti doping of tungsten oxide is investigated. And it is found that the tungsten oxide film prepared by the templateless hydrothermal method consisted of a network structure with excessively large pore size and uneven distribution. These holes will cut off the ion transport channels, but as titanium (Ti) is doped, these holes will gradually refine into uniform and densely distributed porous star-like structure, providing a convenient transport path for ions. When Ti doping content reaches 3%, the diffusion coefficient of hydrogen ions is increased, and correspondingly, the coloring and fading time are reduced. However, when Ti doping content is further increased to 10%, the transport of ions is hindered by the reduction of pores and the formation of bulk structures, which makes the response time prolonged.
