Tungsten oxide, which may be applied for preparing nano-ceramic color master, may be prepared by pulsed laser ablation (abbreviated as PLA). Laser ablation is the process of removing material from a solid (or occasionally liquid) surface by irradiating it with a laser beam.
Preparation of Tungsten Oxide by Pulsed Laser Ablation Method
Leaf-shaped tungsten trioxide can be prepared by pulsed laser ablation in a liquid medium. The tungsten foil was placed in distilled water, and then the tungsten foil was irradiated with a laser and the aqueous solution was stirred. After aging, filtration, washing and calcination, leaf-shaped tungsten trioxide nanosheets were obtained.
The pulsed laser ablation method uses a pulsed laser beam to heat the target to a temperature above the vaporization temperature (<10 ms) to generate a steam plume. The steam plume is composed of target atoms, ions and clusters of atoms, which will collide with the ambient gas atoms during flight and decelerate, and collide with each other to nucleate, and then grow into nanoparticles.
