Tungsten oxide nanopowder, which may be used for manufacturing thermal insulation dispersion, may be prepared by vapor phase deposition method.
Preparation of Tungsten Oxide by Vapor Deposition Method
The tungsten trioxide powder was placed in a quartz tube, and a tungsten sheet was placed as a substrate in a section of the quartz tube. Then, tungsten trioxide powder was heated and passed through N2. After a while, a layer of purple product was obtained on the tungsten sheet. And it was found that the product was W18O49.
The vapor deposition method is a method by heating reaction raw material to change it from solid state to gaseous state, and undergoing a change in physical properties or a chemical reaction in gaseous state, and condensing into nanopowder during cooling. The samples obtained by vapor deposition method have the characteristics of high purity, good dispersion, narrow particle size distribution, and so on. While the producing method is limited due to the high requirements on the synthesis equipment and harsh reaction conditions.
