Nano grain size tungsten trioxide may be used to produce nano-ceramic color master, which has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, high toughness and good brightness. It also has excellent dispersibility and thermal stability during melting and blending process. In addition, it makes the product have the highest mechanical strength retention rate. The ceramic color master has an appearance of bright yellow masterbatch with a solid content of 9.0%, a transmittance of 70-85%, an infrared blocking ratio of 80-95%, and a haze of less than 1-3%.
Tungsten trioxide also has excellent electrochromic property. By controlling the hydrolysis of the precursor WCl6, tungsten trioxide crystallites were generated to modify the TiO2 nanotube layer. And the obtained sample was tested. At different voltages, the reflection spectra of the sample, pure TiO2 nanotubes and sample annealed at 450°C were analyzed. And it was found that the coloring time and fading time of the samples were 3.6s and 2.8s, respectively. This was the shortest response time in the three sets of samples, which indicated that the tungsten trioxide crystallites modified on the TiO2 nanotubes have significant electrochromic property.
