Nano yellow tungsten oxide is a type of one-dimensional nano material with special grain size and phase structure, which can bring novel and excellent performance for the preparation of thermal insulation master batch. Thus, yellow tungsten oxide has attracted much attention. And therefore, it is necessary to do some related researches on yellow tungsten oxide nanomaterial to better understand its mechanism for applying in the field of thermal insulation.
The yellow tungsten oxide nanorods of hexagonal phase can be prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method with inorganic sodium sulfate as the orientation agent at hydrothermal temperature of 180°C. The WO3 nanorods have the characteristics of large aspect ratio and uniform thickness, which exhibit higher thermal insulation performance than the yellow tungsten oxide synthesized by the precipitation method. Then, through a series of experiments, the growth mechanism of nanorods formed by the strong adsorption of Na+ by yellow tungsten oxide was deduced.
