Due to its unique structural characteristics, the pyrochlore-type tungsten trioxide has a wide range of applications in the field of laminated composites and sensing devices. At present, there is still not comprehensive research on WO3•0.5H2O. And it is still unable to be mass-produced. Therefore, many applications of this type of tungsten trioxide have yet to be developed. There are two main producing methods of WO3•0.5H2O, including hydrothermal synthesis method and acidification method. The hydrothermal synthesis method refers the method that acidizes the sodium tungstate solution to a certain pH range, and undergoes hydrothermal reaction in a certain time. And the so-called acidification method is using the Aurivillius type compound Bi2W2O9 as a precursor by acid treatment.
