Tungsten trioxide nanopowder is a type of near-infrared shielding material, which may be used to prepare thermal insulation films, such as thermal insulation building films and thermal insulation car films. Such tungsten trioxide (WO3) powder also has a catalytic effect.
Isomerization of N-alkanes on Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2
The isomerization reaction of n-alkanes on Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2 was studied to find that the activity of WO3 to n-hexane isomerization was ten times that of metal catalysts. The activity of the catalysts for the isomerization of n-hexane and n-pentane was investigated at different temperatures: Pt/SO4-Zn(625°C)> Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2(625°C)>Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2 (800°C)> Pt/WO3/ZrO2 (800°C).
At 625°C, Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2 was slightly less active than Pt/SO4-ZrO2 due to its lack of acidity. However, Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2 catalyst had lower reduction temperature, which made it more difficult to be oxidized. While it had better dispersibility of active components, and had higher selectivity for isomerized products, so that it had great application value. At 625°C, the acidity of some W(OH)X in Pt/WO3-SO4/ZrO2 was enhanced.
